Staff Product Engineer – Full-Stack, React/Type Script & Connected Products

Remote (HQ Houston, Texas)

I’m working with a fast-growing technology company building the connected software platform for the HVAC industry.

They combine IoT hardware, real-time equipment data and customer-facing software to help homeowners, contractors and service teams identify HVAC problems earlier and manage maintenance more effectively.

This is a high-ownership Staff Product Engineer opportunity, joining a small senior team in a remote environment to shape and deliver products across a complex, multi-sided ecosystem.

You’ll work on:

• Building customer-facing products across frontend and backend
• Developing modern applications using React, Type Script and Next.js
• Designing backend services, APIs and data flows for multi-user workflows
• Turning equipment and operational data into clear, actionable product experiences
• Owning features from an ambiguous customer problem through architecture, implementation, testing and launch
• Working closely with product, design and company leadership to make important technical and product decisions

Requirements:

• Strong full-stack product engineering experience across frontend and backend
• Current hands-on experience with React, Type Script or Next.js
• Deep backend judgement across service design, APIs, data modelling and system architecture
• Evidence of personally owning customer-facing products from concept through production
• Experience making pragmatic trade-offs around rendering, state, performance, reliability and maintainability
• Experience with vertical SaaS, IoT, connected products, marketplaces or multi-user platforms is highly valuable

This is not a role for someone who has only contributed to one layer of a large system. They are looking for an autonomous, hands-on engineer who can understand the customer problem, make the architectural decisions and remain accountable for the production outcome.

You’ll join a mission-driven business modernizing one of the largest and most essential service industries in the US, with significant influence over both the product and technical direction.

The position offers the autonomy of a remote role while working closely with a highly collaborative senior team.

Package: $250k - $300k, benefits and meaningful equity.
