Senior Applications Engineer

Powell Industries seeks a Senior Applications Engineer to design, build, and optimize modern software solutions for enterprise clients. You will lead application architecture, hands-on development, and integration of complex systems in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, implement scalable, secure applications, and ensure high performance and reliability. Mentor junior engineers, champion best practices in coding, testing, and Dev Ops, and contribute to continuous improvement using the latest tools, cloud platforms, and agile methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, secure software applications for enterprise clients.
• Lead application architecture decisions and guide technical direction for key projects.
• Collaborate with product, design, and stakeholder teams to gather and refine requirements.
• Develop and integrate APIs, databases, and cloud services for robust solutions.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and Dev
• Ops best practices.
• Ensure application performance, reliability, and security through monitoring and optimization.
• Write clean, testable code and maintain automated test coverage.
• Mentor and support junior engineers, promoting knowledge sharing and best practices.
• Participate in code reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend tools and approaches to enhance solutions.
