Web Creek is looking for a Mid-Level Full Stack Software Developer with strong React and Python experience to join our team on-site in Houston, Texas. This position will focus approximately 60% on frontend development with React and 40% on backend development with Python.
The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience building responsive, data‑driven user interfaces, integrating RESTful APIs, developing Python services, and working with relational databases. This role is well suited for a collaborative developer who can contribute across the application stack and deliver reliable, maintainable solutions.
What You’ll Do:
- Develop responsive, user‑friendly interfaces using React.js, Material UI (MUI), HTML5, and CSS
3. - Build reusable, modular, and testable frontend components.
- Develop and maintain backend services and application components using Python.
- Build and support RESTful APIs and service layers that connect frontend applications with backend systems and relational databases.
- Integrate APIs and manage asynchronous data within React applications.
- Implement effective state management using Redux, Context API, Zustand, or similar technologies.
- Optimize frontend performance using techniques such as lazy loading, code splitting, throttling, and debouncing.
- Work with charting and visualization libraries such as Sci Chart, Highcharts, or D3.js.
- Support geospatial data visualization using Map Box when required.
- Write and optimize SQL queries that support application functionality and business workflows.
- Troubleshoot frontend, backend, API, database, and application performance issues.
- Write automated tests using Jest, Cypress, React Testing Library, or similar tools.
- Participate in peer code reviews and follow established development and architecture standards.
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, QA teams, and other stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle.
- Maintain clear technical documentation and contribute to a reliable, high‑quality codebase.
What You Bring:
- 3+ years of professional software development experience.
- Professional experience developing backend services or applications using Python.
- Experience with Material UI (MUI), HTML5, CSS3, and modern frontend development tools.
- Experience with state management solutions such as Redux, Context API, or Zustand.
- Experience developing and integrating RESTful APIs.
- Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL, or DB2.
- Solid SQL skills, including queries, joins, data access, and basic performance optimization.
- Understanding of frontend and backend application architecture.
- Experience handling asynchronous data and integrating frontend applications with backend services.
- Familiarity with unit, integration, or end‑to‑end testing.
- Strong troubleshooting, debugging, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves):
- Experience with Web Socket, Socket.io, rx Stomp, or Server‑Sent Events.
- Experience with Sci Chart, Highcharts, D3.js, or similar visualization libraries.
- Experience with Map Box or other geospatial visualization tools.
- Familiarity with data aggregation and downsampling techniques.
- Familiarity with WebGL and high‑performance rendering.
- Experience with Docker, AWS, Git Hub Actions, or deployment pipelines.
- Experience supporting production applications.
- Experience working in an Agile software development environment.
