Shipping And Receiving Specialist

Talascend is currently seeking a Shipping And Receiving Specialist for a contract opportunity with our client in Houston, Texas
.

Performs a broad range of duties related to the coordination, shipping, and receipt of domestic and international shipments, including coordination with packages, common and private carriers, and completing required documentation accurately and timely.

• Responsible for the preparation and processing of all required documents and transactions necessary to ship and receive materials to and from domestic and international locations.
• Coordinates shipments and/or deliveries with carriers and/or forwarding agents.
• Responsible for investigation of issues related to shipments and receipts.
• Corresponds with Finance team regarding credit hold customers, following established hold procedures.
• Work closely with Customer Service and Project Managers personnel to expedite items to meet customer deliveries.
• Adhere to returned goods procedures, communicating the receipt of materials, processing upon approval.
• Generate and/or maintain various shipping and receiving reports, as required.
• Expedites and follows orders of a critical nature.
• Responsible for data and inventory integrity within the shipping department.
• Assists other office personnel as workload requires and substitutes for them during absences.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

• High School Diploma
• Shipping: 2 years
• Excel: 2 years
• Customer Service: 2 years

• Detail-oriented, keeps accurate inventory and documentation.
• Display good teamwork, flexibility, and initiative.
• Interface with different departments, vendors, and customers in a professional manner.
• Time management skills.
• Ability to analyze and review shipping/receiving documents.
• Software Knowledge: SAP experience.
• Logistics experience is a PLUS.

Work will be completed in office and/or shipping and receiving production areas. There will be potential exposure to seasonal temperatures. Able to work long hours and/or weekends sometimes based on operational needs.
