Truck Driver CDL A

Position Description

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Houston, TX. The position offers weekly pay of approximately $1600, a $2000 sign‑on bonus (paid 50% at 30 days and 50% at 90 days), and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, paid time off, uniforms, a 401(k) match, and paid maternity leave.

Schedule:

Tuesdays through Saturdays with two consecutive days off each week. Drives 8:00 PM – 6:00 AM shifts.

• Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and company policies.
• Detect, mitigate, and report safety hazards, maintaining accurate logs and records.
• Load and unload freight, and assist in the loading/unloading of freight if required by the customer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Deliver single‑liner freight to Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, and Oklahoma.
• Operate a Day Cab or Sleeper tractor; manual transmission required.
• Drive 48’ – 53’ dry van with lift gate; use electric pallet jack and lift gate.
• Primary freight: automotive parts.
• Hazmat endorsement required, with at least 9‑12 months Hazmat experience.

• Medical, dental, and vision coverage effective after 30 days.

• Minimum age 21.
• Valid Class A CDL with all required endorsements.
• 9 months of CDL A experience within the past 3 years, 2 years within the past 5 years, or 5 years within the past 10 years.
• At least 9‑12 months of Hazmat experience.
• Pass a Ryder drug test, background and motor‑vehicle check (including the last 3 years), DOT physical, and Ryder road test.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Strong communication skills and ability to follow written and oral instructions.
