Position Overview
As a Dispatcher with the C&S Family of Companies, you serve as the primary point of contact for a group of professional drivers (primarily Class A CDL holders). This role is responsible for dispatching loads and ensuring the drivers are set up for success—communicating special instructions, assigning the correct equipment, and providing coordination as needed. The dispatcher executes daily workload, informs stakeholders of deviations from plan, and plays a vital role in creating a culture of safety and prompt issue resolution.
ScheduleSunday, Monday, Thursday, and Friday nights. Tentative work hours will be from 8:30PM to 7:00AM (four to ten‑hour days). Flexibility is required.
Pay Rate$20 per hour.
Responsibilities- Review routing and scheduling plan for the shift to ensure all assignments are covered.
- Dispatch routes and relay information, instruction, and/or messages to drivers.
- Ensure every driver has what they need to be successful for the day.
- When loads are uncovered, work with the team to develop a coverage plan and communicate accordingly.
- Use appropriate channels to communicate information pertaining to daily transportation operations (e.g., delivery time/plan adjustments, missing product, hours of service issues, safety incidents).
- Update the customer portal when applicable.
- Engage with driver workforce and help site leadership create a best‑in‑class work environment.
- Promptly investigate and resolve issues; regularly report findings to management.
- Maintain dispatch system accuracy. When a driver returns, complete a debrief to review paperwork and update the system.
- Answer phones professionally, troubleshoot, and elevate when necessary.
- Complete daily safety observations and ensure drivers comply with DOT hours‑of‑service regulations.
Qualifications: Driver engagement, high school diploma—general studies, planning & execution, transportation communication, transportation safety.
Experience: 2–5 years; high‑paced and dynamic environment preferred; dispatching experience is preferred.

Skills:
Ability to multi‑task, interpersonal skills, written and oral communication, telephone etiquette.
Knowledge: CDL, general computing ability, knowledge of OSHA and DOT regulations. Bi‑lingual English/Spanish preferred.
