Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused CDL Driver to support daily operations of chemical distribution. The role involves operating Class 8 tractors and related equipment to transport hazardous and non‑hazardous materials, including liquids and dry products.
Responsibilities- Operate Class 8 tractors and related equipment to transport hazardous and non‑hazardous materials.
- Perform bulk and packaged deliveries, including loading and unloading using pumps, air, and other equipment.
- Move products between outside delivery customers/vendors, in‑plant spotting, and inter‑company branch transfers.
- Manage the entire process including transport, proper transfer, securement after completion, and execution of all applicable paperwork.
- Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and Brenntag safety standards, including placarding, pre‑inspection, daily logs, and reporting repairs.
- Follow all Brenntag operating procedures and work instructions.
- Operate pallet jacks and, if required, forklifts, dock locks, dock levelers, and other delivery/pickup equipment.
- Care for assigned equipment, maintain ELDs, virtual gateways, camera systems, and tracking units.
- Communicate with supervisors/dispatchers to receive delivery instructions.
- High school diploma, GED, or U.S. military experience.
- Class A CDL with Tanker, Bulk and/or Hazmat endorsements as required.
- Current DOT medical card, TWIC card (or proof of application) if required, and ability to drive manual transmission.
- Full driver qualification (DQ) components met for employment.
- Experience:
minimum 1 year of liquid bulk hauling or 3 years of commercial truck driving (preferred). - Certification from an accredited commercial driving academy (preferred).
- Willingness to work overtime or weekends as needed and perform general warehouse duties.
- Detail‑oriented with strong organizational and customer‑service skills.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and implement detailed instructions in English; write simple correspondence; and perform basic arithmetic.
- Comfortable operating technology‑based devices such as smartphones, tablets, and transportation platforms (e.g., Samsara).
- Responsible for handling hazardous material, using respirator if required, and wearing necessary PPE.
- Local residency within sixty miles. No lodging provided.
- Must pass pre‑employment drug screen, background check, E‑Verify, and DOT fit‑for‑duty exam.
- Ability to sit and drive for long hours.
- Step in and out of equipment safely, lift up to 75 lb, push/pull up to 150 lb.
- Wear respirator and PPE as required; climb ladders; load and unload hazardous material.
