Cross Country Freight Solutions is seeking Class A CDL drivers who prioritize customer service and safety to join our dynamic team. The role involves operating a company motor vehicle to transport freight safely and efficiently to specified locations by a specified time. Responsibilities include unloading, sorting, palletizing, and reloading freight, either manually or with mechanical assistance, and completing all required paperwork in accordance with government regulations and company policies.
EssentialJob Duties
- Conduct pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections
- Deliver and/or pick up freight to/from customer locations and/or terminals as instructed by dispatch or immediate supervisor
- Ensure all shipping documentation is available for DOT inspection and that appropriate paperwork accompanies the shipment to the delivery point
- Load and/or unload a wide variety of freight onto and off a company motor vehicle at customer locations and at the terminal, with or without mechanical assistance depending on the size of freight
- Valid Class A CDL
- At least 21 years of age
- One year of commercial driving experience
- No DUI’s or DWI’s in the past 3 years
- No more than 3 traffic violations in the past 3 years
- Must have Hazmat and Tanker endorsements or be willing to obtain them; renewals reimbursable
- Successful completion of a pre‑employment skills assessment
- Frequent entry and exit of the cab of a commercial vehicle
- Safely maneuver freight/pallets weighing up to 2,500pounds onto a dolly or cart with a force of up to 130pounds with mechanical aid in various environments/conditions
- Carry freight weighing up to 40pounds for a distance of up to 20feet
- Hook and unhook commercial combinations; manually lower and raise landing gear; operate fifth wheel release levers; lock and release pintle‑hooks; attach and release safety chains; open and close cargo doors; climb into and out of vehicles; fuel and check oil/coolant levels of vehicles
