Import Supervisor

Essential Job Functions

* Plans, directs, and controls import activities on a day-to-day basis

* Develops and maintains relationships with key customers and key suppliers resolving concerns, interacting with customer service, operations, and sales personnel to resolve any conflicts on a timely basis.

* Supervises import documentation.

* Oversee obtaining and processing of Customs release and other government agency releases as appropriate, arranging delivery, and invoicing the import accounts to their SOP

* Supervise coordination of the release of goods from the carrier, customs or other governmental agency examinations that may be required.

* Other duties as assigned

Other Skills & Abilities

* Understanding of Customs regulations, tariffs and interpretations

* Excellent oral and written communication skills.

* Must have excellent client service skills, responding promptly and professionally to client needs and requests for service and assistance.

* Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using units of U.S. currency, weight, volume and distance measurements

* Experience with word processing, spreadsheets, email and various PC based software.

* Must be detail oriented with good organizational skills

Physical Requirements

* Position may require extended periods of sitting, computer use, standing and walking.

* Some light lifting may be required in some instances

Education & Experience

* High School Diploma or GED

* Minimum 5 years related experience.

* Minimum 3 years industry experience preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES

* Professional certification may be required in some areas.
