Position Description
Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Houston, TX — offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about.
Pay, Schedule, and Training- $1,600 weekly average or more;
Sign‑On Bonus: $2,000, $1/2 after 30 days, $1/2 after 90 days. - Schedule:
Tuesday — Saturday with 2 consecutive days off each week; 1‑2 layovers per week. - Start Time: 8:00 PM – 6:00 AM Dispatch.
- Paid training.
- Route: SOLO To: TX, LA, MS, AR, OK.
- Tractor type:
Day Cab and Sleeper; must be able to drive a manual. - Trailer type: 48’ – 53’ Dry Van with Lift Gate.
- Equipment:
Electric Pallet Jack and Lift Gate. - Freight:
Touch – Automotive Parts. - Endorsements:
Hazmat – to be obtained at interview; must have 9‑12 months Hazmat experience. - Must have 12 months of CDL A experience driving.
- Route delivery experience required.
- Medical, Dental & Vision after 30 days.
- 80 hours paid time off in the first year; use it or get paid for it.
- Uniforms & boot allowance provided.
- Drivers are the Captain — you make safety decisions, and your job is protected.
- 401(k) rollover available now + company match at 1 year.
- 12 weeks paid maternity leave (subject to eligibility criteria).

- Minimum 21 years of age.
- Pass a Ryder Drug Test.
- Pass a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years.
- Pass a DOT physical.
- Pass a Ryder road test.
- Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
- Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor‑trailer or comparable vehicle:
- 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years.
- Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions.
- Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures.
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and agency rules, standards and guidelines.
- Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards; maintain accurate records and logs.
- Load/Unload freight or assist in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
