Railcar Planner

Position Summary

The Railcar Planner will manage the scheduling and forecast of all railcars that are coming in and leaving the Pearland location to meet the production, blending, and reaction schedules. As required by our customer demands, the Railcar Planner will plan accordingly with all operations schedules to ensure and meet customers on-time delivery from Third Coast.

• Perform the following duties/task in Bourque Logistics (Railtrac, Yard Master, and Railport): o Forecast when and how each railcar will be used in the plant through Railtrac and Yard Master to support customer delivery deadlines.
• Preemptively get together with CSR to figure out the disbursement and schedule for each railcar that will come to the Pearland location. Ensure Yard Master and Dynamics are updated, and all required paperwork is prepared before arrival. oCommunicate daily with the BNSF logistics contractor to track incoming railcars in Railtrac and schedule releases.
• Coordinate with Rail Logistics and plant supervisors to ensure railcars are moved and disbursed according to the Yard Master switch list. oReview Yard Master to ensure it is accurate and up to date.
• Prepare and distribute Rail Port reports to customers and management summarizing railcar activity, daily in-plant movements, and key performance metrics. oDevelop and maintain knowledge of Bourque Logistics and the BNSF website to share relevant information within TC as needed.
• Prepare a daily list of railcars to request from the BNSF yard and reschedule as needed when deliveries are missed.
• Monitor and expedite railcar turn times.
• Provide direction to the Commercial Team regarding availability, or conflicts caused by the addition of new products including tank location, load/unloading rail spots and production spotting for drumming requirements.
• Request crucial information from CSR such as Bill of Lading, Certificate of Approval, and PO/SO Number from Dynamics.
• Collaborate with the Raw Materials Coordinator to monitor key stock tank levels and determine when railcars can be used for replenishment.
• Coordinate with schedulers to align railcar usage for packaging, blending, transloading, and reaction needs.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Rail planning and coordination.
• Preferred experience with Bourque Logistics systems, including Railtrac, Yard Master, and Railport.
• Detail oriented with excellent organization skills and good collaboration.
• Proficient in working with Microsoft Office Excel, Word, Outlook, and Dynamics.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and internal teams.
• Problem Solving and Problem Analysis skills.
