JOB DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Transportation Manager, the Transportation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating daily transportation operations, ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective movement of goods. This role includes managing a team of drivers and transportation staff, optimizing delivery routes, and ensuring adherence to safety regulations and company policies.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Team Supervision:Lead and manage a team of drivers and transportation personnel.
Provide effective leadership, coaching, and development opportunities to enhance team performance.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and implement corrective actions when necessary.
Ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards.
Route Planning and Optimization:Plan and optimize transportation routes to ensure timely deliveries while minimizing costs.
Monitor daily operations to identify opportunities for improvement in route efficiency and driver performance.
Allocate resources effectively to meet operational demands.
Step in to assist with delivery driving as needed to provide additional support.
Compliance and Safety:Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations, including DOT requirements, in all transportation activities.
Monitor driver compliance with safety protocols, hours of service, and regulatory standards.
Conduct safety training and implement initiatives to reduce accidents and injuries.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of vehicle inspections, driver logs, and other compliance-related documentation.
Fleet Management:Oversee the maintenance and operation of the company’s fleet of vehicles.
Ensure vehicles are regularly serviced and maintained to meet operational needs.
Track vehicle usage, fuel consumption, and other key performance indicators.
Coordinate repairs, servicing, and inspections with the maintenance team.
