Night Freezer Captain

Position Summary

The Night Freezer Captain receives, stores, and distributes products within establishments, verifying product quality, positioning received product from dock to pallet positions, and performing other related duties as assigned.

• Available to work nights.
• Work in the freezer.
• Operate a stand‑up forklift, electric pallet jack, or ride‑on pallet jack.
• Read customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
• Receive JIT transfer truck and AB meat truck assisting in breaking down pallets.
• Convey product and items from receiving or warehouse areas to storage or other designated areas.
• Sort and place product or items on pallet, freezer bag, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, or product code, and maintain orders at temperature with dry ice.
• Sort and store perishable goods in refrigerated rooms.
• Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests of product or other stock items and distribute items to warehouse dock for loading.
• Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets, freezer bag, or bins for packing station or shipping department and prepare for shipping.
• Label product with identifying information on each box.
• Open boxes, per customer order request of unit of measure.
• Weigh or count items for distribution of product to ensure conformance to customer request.
• Report inventory balance, shortages, defective or unusable product, and any discrepancies.
• Adhere to food security, food safety regulations and policies (PRIMUS, HACCP, CGMPs).
• RF scanning.
• Perform other duties assigned or necessary depending on company.

• HS diploma or equivalent.
• Certification to operate a pallet jack or forklift.
• Able to lift at a minimum of 50 lbs. consistently.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions with minimal supervision.
• Ability to communicate with others.
• Dependable work attendance, and committed to accuracy and attention to detail.
• Maintain a safe working environment and fulfill essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.
• Work in cold temperatures ranging from –10 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
