Position SummaryThe Material Handler loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near the plant, yard, or work site, performing clerical duties related to shipping, receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing, and delivering a variety of materials, equipment, and supplies.

Position Responsibilities- Count, weigh, or measure incoming or outgoing items to compare identifying information and variety against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records; examine incoming shipments for damage or shortages and correspond with the shipper to rectify; complete paperwork or forms required for documentation.
- Determine the method of shipment utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates; prepare materials for shipping by weighing, packaging, and stamping; prepare necessary shipping forms such as bills of lading.
- Provide on‑the‑job training to lower‑level employees and resolve problems utilizing knowledge of shipping/receiving/materials handling.
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, or dollies to move stock or reorganize storage.
- Participate in routing, counting, and inspecting items while loading and unloading trucks; deliver and return items.
- Transport high‑technology, high‑dollar‑cost equipment and supplies to customers; secure cargo properly and safely.
- Fill orders and issue materials and supplies per requests.
- Participate in ordering or purchasing standard stock items within established procedures and limits.
- One year of shipping/receiving experience or an equivalent combination of experience, training, and/or education.
- Technical competence (understanding of software, hardware, networks, etc.).
- At least two years of experience working in a fabrication shop.
- Fluency in English with strong speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension skills.
- US work authorization is a precondition of employment. The company will not consider candidates who require sponsorship for a work‑authorized visa.
- Successful candidate must satisfactorily complete a pre‑employment drug screen and background check.
