Parts Department Specialist Warehouse, Inventory & Delivery Operations Houston, Texas (On-Site)Position Summary
AHM Furniture Service is seeking a dependable, organized, and motivated Parts Department Specialist to support warehouse operations, inventory management, parts ordering, technician support, and local delivery operations. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate inventory control, timely parts fulfillment, vendor coordination, and operational efficiency while supporting field technicians and customer service initiatives across the company.
- Order furniture parts, supplies, and materials from approved vendors and manufacturers
- Establish and maintain strong vendor and supplier relationships
- Follow up on backorders, damaged shipments, shortages, and shipping delays
- Research part availability and alternative sourcing solutions
- Coordinate returns, warranty claims, and vendor communications
Warehouse & Inventory Operations
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments for accuracy and damage
- Process incoming freight and unload delivery trucks
- Verify shipping manifests, packing slips, and purchase orders
- Scan, barcode, label, and organize inventory
- Conduct cycle counts and inventory audits
- Maintain organized, clean, and safe warehouse areas
- Monitor stock levels and communicate replenishment needs
- Pull merchandise and prepare customer and technician orders
- Stage deliveries and organize outgoing shipments
Work Orders & System Updates
- Update work orders accurately within company systems
- Upload tracking information, serial numbers, notes, and documentation
- Ensure inventory movement and parts activity are documented properly
- Support technicians and operations teams with parts status updates
Pick-Up & Delivery Responsibilities
- Perform local pick-up and delivery of parts, materials, and supplies
- Safely transport inventory between vendors, technicians, customers, and company facilities
- Load and unload materials safely and professionally
- Maintain delivery documentation and chain-of-custody records
Team & Customer Support
- Develop strong relationships with customers shopping both in-store and online
- Partner with team members to create smooth and accurate transactions
- Assist in creating an energetic, positive, and team-oriented work environment
- Support first-visit completion initiatives through accurate and timely parts fulfillment
- Assist with additional warehouse, logistics, and operational projects as needed
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving history
- Ability to pass background and motor vehicle checks
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Dependable attendance and punctuality
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn company systems
- Ability to lift and move boxes, furniture parts, and materials safely
- Ability to work on-site in Houston, Texas
Preferred Experience
- Warehouse, inventory, logistics, or parts department experience
- Furniture, upholstery, service, or repair industry experience
- Experience with inventory systems, scanning, and barcoding
- Shipping and receiving experience
- Forklift or warehouse equipment experience
- Customer-oriented mindset with a passion for serving others
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions, correspondence, memos, and emails
- Strong relationship-building and teamwork skills
