Ideal Candidate:
The On-Site Project Associate II independently performs on-site packing and crating operations at customer locations, ensuring freight is properly prepared, protected, and documented for transport. This role is responsible for executing packing activities with minimal supervision, operating tools and equipment safely, maintaining job site organization, and ensuring compliance with DGM standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements. The associate II supports job execution by handling documentation, identifying issues, and assisting with training less experienced associates, while contributing to efficient, safe, and high-quality on-site operations.
- 2–4 years of experience packing freight into boxes, crates, or containers, including blocking, bracing, sealing, wrapping, banding, and labeling, in a warehouse or on-site environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to independently perform on-site packing and crating activities in accordance with customer and DGM specifications.
- Proficient experience using hand and pneumatic tools; ability to read tape measures and perform accurate cuts and assemblies.
- Demonstrated experience operating pallet jacks and forklifts; must maintain or obtain required forklift certification.
- Ability to accurately measure, count, label, and verify materials and freight.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and internal communication; experience using systems such as C2C preferred.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook preferred.
- Ability to follow written and verbal work instructions and job site safety procedures.
- Ability to work independently at customer locations and travel locally as required.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred based on operational needs.
- Must successfully complete and maintain IATA, IMDG, and 49 CFR training, with a minimum passing score of 90%.
- Working knowledge of on-site packing, crating, and material-handling processes.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining safety, quality, and productivity standards.
- Ability to interpret and apply packing instructions, drawings, and job specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and accountability for accuracy and workmanship.
- Ability to communicate clearly with team members, leads, and supervisors regarding job progress or issues.
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines in dynamic field environments.
