The Operations Clerk plays a key role in supporting daily plant and warehouse operations. This position serves as a central point of coordination between customers, production, and warehouse teams—ensuring smooth communication, efficient scheduling, and timely order fulfillment.
This is a hands‑on role that requires strong organizational skills, customer focus, and the ability to work both at a desk and within the plant environment.
Responsibilities Customer Support & Communication- Answer inbound customer calls and emails regarding orders, deliveries, and product inquiries
- Provide timely and professional updates on order status and scheduling
- Coordinate with sales and operations teams to resolve customer needs or concerns
- Assist with planning and coordinating daily warehouse and production schedules
- Communicate priorities to warehouse staff to ensure efficient workflow
- Monitor order timelines and proactively identify potential delays
- Regularly walk the warehouse and production areas to track progress and ensure alignment with schedules
- Support inventory awareness and ensure materials are available for production
- Assist with shipping and receiving coordination as needed
- Maintain accurate records of orders, schedules, and customer communications
- Prepare basic reports and updates for leadership
- Support continuous improvement of operational processes
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1–3 years of experience in operations, warehouse, customer service, or related field
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment
- Comfortable working in both office and plant/warehouse settings
- Experience in a manufacturing or chemical plant environment
- Familiarity with inventory, scheduling, or ERP systems
- Basic Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Customer-focused with a problem‑solving mindset
- Strong attention to detail and follow‑through
- Ability to coordinate across multiple teams
- Adaptable and proactive in a hands‑on environment
- Safety‑conscious and team‑oriented
- Ability to walk the warehouse and production floor regularly
- Ability to lift to 25 lbs (if applicable)
- Comfortable working in an industrial environment with appropriate PPE
