Job Title: Senior Accountant
Location: Brighton, Michigan
Hours: 8:00AM - 5:00PM Monday - Friday — On Site Position
Compensation: $60,000-$100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and full benefit package

Our client in Brighton, MI, is seeking a Senior Accountant to play a critical role in financial reporting, analysis, and operational support within a manufacturing-focused organization. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for month-end close activities, financial reporting, cost and inventory accounting, audit support, and compliance-related functions. This role requires a detail-oriented, analytical professional who can work independently while collaborating effectively across departments. - Lead month-end close processes, including cash flow reporting and reconciliations
- Manage inventory control, including work orders and inventory adjustments
- Oversee daily purchasing and sales reporting for management review
- Prepare and review intercompany invoices
- Generate and analyze internal financial reports
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, and necessary adjustments
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts
- Review account balances and perform detailed account reconciliations
- Evaluate accounts receivable and payable; manage collections and expenses
- Maintain accurate and timely financial records, including invoice posting
- Prepare sales and purchasing analyses for business operations and insurance renewals
- Provide audit support by preparing and reviewing required documentation
- Perform timely sales and use tax filings
- Prepare quarterly and annual sales schedules and tax-related reports
- Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules
- Support electronic filing of manufacturing, R&D, and business surveys
- Review inventory records and assess required adjustments
- Lead manufacturing and cost accounting activities
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations
- Associate's degree in accounting or equivalent (bachelor's degree preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Manufacturing and inventory management experience required
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; strong overall technical aptitude
- Hands-on experience with Sage 100 or higher ERP systems
- Solid understanding of procurement, plant operations, GMP, BRC, and HACCP standards
- Experience with audit preparation, compliance, and regulatory reporting
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented, goal-driven, and capable of working with limited supervision
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly present financial information
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and credibility
- Demonstrated interest in working within an entrepreneurial, growth-oriented culture
- Authorized to work in the United States
- CPA license preferred but not required
