Academic Programs Support Specialist

Position Overview

The Academic Programs Support Specialist supports the Provost, Deans, and Manager of Instructional Design in managing the daily operations of Academics Programs. This Howell campus, in-person position (not virtual or hybrid) involves a variety of tasks aimed at ensuring the smooth functioning of the programs, including data management, report generation, and office organization. The role provides an opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in academic administration and operations within a higher education setting.

Responsibilities

* Data Management

* Enter and update data into various databases and systems accurately.

* Verify and reconcile data to ensure its accuracy and completeness.

* Generate reports and summaries to assist with departmental data analysis.

* Office Operations

* Assist in maintaining organization and order within the Academics Office.

* Handle phone, e-mail, and walk-in inquiries, providing timely and professional responses.

* Revise, create, and manage handouts, flyers, website language, etc. to support communication with students, faculty, and staff on behalf of Academics.

* Special Projects

* Complete special projects and initiatives as assigned by the Provost, Assistant Provost for Academic Operations, Deans, and Manager of Instructional Design.

* Participate in meetings and contribute to discussions on process improvements.

Expected Skills

* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

* Ability to handle confidential information with discretion (e.g., full compliance with FERPA).

* Proficiency in AI, Google Apps, Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

* Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.

* Previous office or administrative experience is a plus but not required.

Minimum Qualifications

* Must be a current student at Cleary University.

* At least 2 years remaining in your academic program.

* Must be in good academic standing (and continue to be in good academic standing).

* Demonstrated interest in working in the higher education setting in academic affairs/operations.

* Can commit to working physically on the Howell campus 10-15 hours per week during the Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 Semesters.
