Family Ministries Pastor

The Family Ministries Pastor provides vision, leadership, and spiritual oversight for children, students, young adults, and their families. This role ensures a unified discipleship pathway from birth through young adulthood while investing directly in staff leaders, volunteers, parents, and students. The ideal candidate is both a strategic thinker and a hands‑on shepherd who is passionate about helping the next generation and their families flourish in Christ.

• Develop and lead a comprehensive discipleship strategy from birth through young adulthood
• Oversee and support the Kids Director and Students Pastor, ensuring alignment with CBC’s mission and values
• Remain present and engaged in weekly ministry environments and key events
• Guide curriculum decisions to ensure biblical depth and age‑appropriate application
• Champion strong parent partnership, equipping families as primary spiritual influencers
• Lead or support milestone moments such as Child Dedications, Baptisms, and Grad Sundays

• Provide direct leadership to the Young Adults Ministry
• Foster a culture of discipleship, community, and outreach
• Recruit and develop young adult leaders
• Create pathways for young adults to engage in the life and mission of the church
• Provide pastoral care and mentorship for this life stage

• Disciple and coach the Kids Director and Students Pastor
• Help set goals, measure impact, and maintain healthy leadership rhythms
• Strengthen volunteer teams across Kids, Students, and Young Adults
• Cultivate a culture of prayer, care, and excellence

• Preach or teach in worship services as assigned
• Serve on the pastoral team through hosting, services, events, and planning
• Provide pastoral care including counseling, hospital visits, weddings, and funerals
• Participate in staff leadership and the spiritual direction of the church

• Oversee budgets, calendars, and communication for family ministries
• Ensure collaboration and alignment across departments
  
  Maintain safety and volunteer screening policies
• Evaluate and improve systems, structure, and ministry effectiveness

• Spiritually mature, Christ‑centered leader with a heart for families and the next generation
• Proven experience in family, youth, or young adult ministry leadership
• Strong and dynamic communicator in both teaching and one‑on‑one discipleship
• Strategic thinker who can also lead hands‑on
• Skilled in leadership development and team building
• Ministry or theological training preferred
• Passion for helping unchurched families and young adults find belonging in Christ
