Multilingual Learner Tutor (Mll Tutor)
The multilingual learner tutor assists, supports and works closely with teachers, paraprofessionals and other team members in providing educational benefits for students with limited English language proficiency.
Essential functions include facilitating communication/translation between parents, students and teachers, assisting with administering state mandated and district/building/class level assessments, and supporting children with limited English proficiency in the general education classroom.
Qualification requirements include fluency in the English language, strong understanding of the English language, experience with a second language, and strong one-on-one student support skills. A high school diploma (or equivalent) and meeting one of the following requirements is also necessary: completing at least two years of study at an institution of higher education, obtaining an associate's degree (or higher), or passing a formal state or local academic assessment.
