Plant Financial Controller – Automotive Manufacturing (Howell, MI)

We are seeking a hands-on, results-driven Financial Controller to lead all plant-level finance and accounting for a rapidly growing automotive manufacturing facility in Howell, MI. This is a mission-critical opportunity with a trusted, international Tier 1 supplier, recognized for its advanced NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness) components and thermal/acoustic solutions for global OEMs.

Own the complete financial close, reporting, and controls for all site activities (manufacturing, operations, SG&A).
Deliver accurate monthly and quarterly closes, reporting under US GAAP with German parent reporting exposure.
Drive the annual budget and forecast process and provide actionable business analytics to improve operating performance.
Manage cost accounting, inventory, BOMs, material and labor efficiency, and variance analysis.
Proactively support the Plant Manager as a strategic finance partner, turning numbers into operational action.
Lead internal and external audits and ensure SOX-level control compliance.
Support continuous improvement, automation, and special projects in partnership with site leadership.
Work within a small, lean finance team and be both hands-on and engaged at the leadership table.
5+ years of experience in a plant or site controller or accounting role within automotive or related complex manufacturing.
Demonstrated track record of driving plant-level KPIs, margin improvement, and cost discipline.
Advanced working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Infor, or similar) and strong Excel skills.
Full-cycle experience including operational budgeting, reporting, audits, and variance explanations.
Comfort working in a fast-paced, hands-on, growth or change environment.
Strong communication skills with the ability to translate between shop-floor and management or board-level requirements.
College degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA a plus, not required.
Base salary of $125,000 plus an annual 10% performance bonus.
