Sr. HSE Specialist

Develop, implement and maintain programs and processes to prevent workplace accidents in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.  Ensure that employees and on-site visitors, vendors and contractors understand and conform to all HSE requirements governing the site.

Create and deliver health & safety training programs educating employees on topics including, but not limited to, safe working practices, appropriate equipment operation and emergency procedures.  Maintain necessary training records to document compliance with legal and other requirements. Support the training program for hazardous waste management at the facility.and verify implementation of corrective actions to prevent recurrence.  Prepare and submit incident reports in accordance with applicable regulatory and company requirements.

Ensure organizational compliance with the requirements of the ISO 45001 international standard.  Coordinate ISO 45001 management system activities as a part of the company’s combined Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) management system. requirements in the local workers’ compensation program by initiating claims with the third party insurance provider and acting as the primary contact for all parties involved throughout the claims process.

Knowledge of federal, state and other regulatory and standard requirements pertaining to occupational health & safety.  Examples include, but are not limited to:

Bachelor’s degree in a Health & Safety related field is strongly preferred.  Equivalent work experience with current professional certification(s) may be considered. years of experience in 5+ years of experience in a HSE role.

Experience with Process Safety Management and Process Hazard Analysis assessments strongly preferred
