Skilled Trades- Fabricator

Primary Job Function

Responsible for fabrication, positioning, aligning, and fitting parts of structural metal products, equipment, or machinery components by interpreting blueprints and using a variety of metalworking tools and machinery

• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine material requirements and task sequences.
• Operate fabrication machinery such as shears, press brakes, saws, and drill presses to cut and shape materials.
• Measure and mark materials to ensure precise dimensions and tolerances, using instruments like calipers, squares, and tape measures.
• Assemble and fit components using various methods, including welding, bolting, riveting, or using adhesives.
• Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy, ensuring compliance with specifications and quality standards.
• Perform routine maintenance on fabrication equipment and tools and maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Collaborate with engineers and team members to troubleshoot issues and optimize the fabrication process

• High School Diploma or GED
• 3 – 5 years’ manufacturing experience with full range of cutting, assembling, welding, and fabrication of structural steel, sheet metal, and other required elements of Industrial weldments
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings/manuals.
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools (e.g., drills, grinders, saws).
• Familiarity with operating fabrication machinery (e.g., shears, press brakes, and welding equipment.
• Basic mathematical skills for accurate measurements, dimensions, and calculations.
• Knowledge of safety standards and the ability to adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures.

• Frequent lifting of up to 25 lbs. and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Occasional lifting, climbing, carrying, pulling, griping, grasping, twisting, bending, stooping and reaching throughout the work day
• Hand and eye coordination
• Ability to sit stand and walk for extended periods of time (8 hours or more)
• Ability to use a phone and computer keyboard
• Ability to work in manufacturing environment
