About the Role:

Michigan Underground Specialists in Howell, MI is looking for a skilled Heavy Equipment Service Technician to join their hardworking team. This is a hands‑on opportunity to keep critical underground construction equipment running at peak performance. If you're passionate about diesel mechanics and heavy machinery, we want to hear from you!

Role and Responsibilities
  • Ensure a positive customer service experience and high levels of satisfaction.
  • Inspect and diagnose equipment brought in for repair.
  • Wash equipment being repaired.
  • Consult with product support when necessary.
  • Look up parts and prepare repair estimates, suggest repairs that may be required soon.
  • Complete all necessary repairs for assigned work orders.
  • Ensure parts used are documented.
  • Test and verify correct operation of all repairs.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, fabrication, and welding, as assigned.
  • Perform new equipment PDI’s.
  • Maintain a clean/safe/organized work area and shop.
  • Perform necessary building and grounds maintenance, including clearing snow from the parking lot.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols.
  • Complete required online and in‑person training.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Mechanical background and welding experience
  • Construction equipment dealership experience

  • High level of integrity
  • Excellent organizational skills and problem‑solving abilities
  • CDL
