Compensation: $43.26 - $50.48 / hour
Position OverviewCME Associates is seeking a motivated and skilled Civil Engineer to join our team. This position is ideal for recent graduates or individuals with up to 5 years of experience. The successful candidate will work on a variety of civil engineering projects, including site development, transportation, and municipal infrastructure.
Responsibilities- Project Design and Development – Assist in the design of roadways, stormwater systems, and site layouts; prepare engineering drawings, specifications, and cost estimates under senior supervision; conduct site visits and field investigations.
- Technical Analysis and Problem Solving – Perform technical calculations and analyses; utilize engineering software for modeling and simulations; identify and propose solutions to engineering challenges.
- Regulatory Compliance – Ensure project designs comply with local, state, and federal regulations; assist in preparing and submitting permit applications; stay informed about regulatory changes.
- Collaboration and Communication – Work with project teams, including engineers, architects, and construction managers; communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies; prepare and present technical reports and project updates.
- Project Management Support – Assist senior engineers and project managers in coordinating schedules and budgets; monitor project progress and provide regular updates; contribute to the preparation of project proposals and bids.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Relevant coursework or internships in civil engineering projects is preferred.
- 0-5 years of experience in civil engineering, preferably focusing on site development, transportation, or municipal infrastructure.
- Internship or co‑op experience in civil engineering is a plus.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or the ability to obtain EIT within 12 months.
- Commitment to pursuing Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other civil engineering design software.
- Familiarity with hydrology and hydraulic modeling software is advantageous.
- Basic understanding of GIS applications and data management.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Detail‑oriented with strong organizational and time‑management skills.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and industry practices.
