Controller, Finance & Banking, Financial Manager

Description

The Controller will be a key member of the leadership team, responsible for overseeing all financial operations of the company. This individual will play a critical role in shaping financial strategy, improving processes, and supporting continued portfolio expansion. Real Estate experience is REQUIRED.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Oversee all core accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and financial reporting

+ Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

+ Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long‑term financial planning processes

+ Design, implement, and maintain strong internal controls, policies, and procedures

+ Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and capital planning activities

+ Provide strategic financial insight to support acquisitions, renovations, and growth initiatives

+ Ensure compliance with GAAP and all applicable regulatory requirements

+ Partner closely with property management and operational teams to drive financial performance

+ Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff

Requirements - Demonstrated experience managing the full accounting cycle within a corporate or property-related environment.

- Strong knowledge of month-end and year-end close procedures, financial statement preparation, and account reconciliation.

- Hands-on expertise in accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including oversight of transaction accuracy and controls.

- Proven ability to build budgets, develop forecasts, and analyze financial results to support strategic decision-making.

- Solid understanding of internal controls, financial policies, and compliance requirements relevant to accounting operations.

- Experience managing cash flow, banking relationships, and financial planning activities.

- Effective leadership skills with experience supervising, mentoring, and developing accounting personnel.
