HR Coordinator - Payroll & Recruiting Support

Established, multi-location service organization is seeking an HR Coordinator to support payroll administration and recruiting operations. This role is evenly split between payroll processing and general HR coordination. The position partners closely with HR leadership and hiring managers to ensure smooth day-to-day HR operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll Administration (Primary Focus)

Support weekly and bi-weekly payroll processing using the company's HRIS/payroll platform

Audit timecards, pay rates, deductions, and payroll changes for accuracy

Maintain employee pay data including new hires, promotions, and terminations

Assist with payroll reconciliations and reporting

Ensure compliance with federal and state wage and hour regulations

Respond to employee payroll inquiries

Coordinate job postings and manage applicant tracking system updates

Screen resumes and route qualified candidates to hiring managers

Schedule interviews and manage candidate communications

Assist with offer letters and background check processing

Maintain employee records and HRIS data integrity

Assist with benefits documentation and employment verifications

Qualifications

1-3 years of HR or payroll coordination experience

Exposure to payroll systems (Paycom experience strongly preferred; ADP, UKG, or similar acceptable)

Working knowledge of wage and hour compliance

Experience using an applicant tracking system a plus

Bachelor's or Associate's degree in HR or related field preferred

Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills

High attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines

Small, collaborative HR team

Fast-paced, operationally driven organization

Hands-on role requiring discretion and strong organizational skills

Interview process includes virtual screening followed by in-person meeting
