Parent CoachParent Coach will assist youth/families in communities throughout the state of NJ who are at risk for child abuse and/or neglect. These families need guidance to make a positive change for themselves and their families.
The Parent Coach will work with families to bring about constructive change through support, guidance, instruction, and/or treatment. The ultimate goal is to maintain children safely at home and to coach parents on how to manage their at-risk youth.
Areas of Support- Essential parenting skills
- Supervision
- Hygiene issues
- Non-physical means of discipline
- Appropriate housing
- Development of a budget
- Advocacy and referral
Provide in-home and community-based support and coaching to parents of children and adolescents with severe mental health or behavioral challenges.
These services will include but are not limited to:
- Coaching and training of parents to address specific needs of the child using evidence-based parenting models.
- Support of the guardian as they parent their child or adolescent.
- Gather and analyze information from parent(s) and team members to assist in developing a service plan to meet the family's needs.
- Assisting the parents in navigating educational, state, and community resources.
- Documenting services rendered in the youth's chart.
- Consultation and collaboration with other staff to address meeting service needs of youth.
- Participate in Child and Family team meetings when scheduled.
We are looking for a licensed candidate in NJ with 1 year of experience working with youth/families with mental health and behavioral health challenges.
- Licensed Social Worker (LSW)
- Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC)
- Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (LAMFT)
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
- Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
- Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
Must have the above qualifications to apply.
Must have a valid NJ driver's license with privileges in good standing.
