Job Description

The Part Time or Summer Youth & Children’s Director provides leadership, teaching, and relational ministry to children and teens during the summer months (or longer is extended). This role focuses on creating a safe, Christ centered environment where young people can grow in faith, build friendships, and engage in meaningful activities.

Primary Responsibilities
  • 1. Lead Weekly Youth & Children’s Ministry Activities
    • Plan and lead weekly youth group gatherings.
    • Organize children’s lessons, activities, and Sunday programming as assigned.
    • Provide age appropriate Bible teaching that is engaging and Christ centered.
  • 2. Build Relationships With Students and Families
    • Connect with kids and teens in positive, encouraging ways.
    • Communicate regularly with parents about schedules and events.
    • Be a visible, friendly presence on Sundays and at church events.
  • 3. Plan and Support Summer Events
    • Assist with VBS, camps, service projects, or special events.
    • Help recruit and coordinate volunteers.
    • Ensure all events are safe, organized, and well supervised.
  • 4. Maintain a Safe and Welcoming Environment
    • Follow all church safety and child protection guidelines.
    • Ensure proper supervision ratios at all times.
    • Model Christlike behavior and set a positive example.
  • 5. Assist the Minister and Staff Team
    • Attend staff meetings as needed.
    • Support Sunday morning ministries.
    • Help with other duties as assigned during the summer.
Qualifications
  • Adherence to Restoration principles
  • A growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Love for children, teens, and families.
  • Ability to teach, lead, and communicate clearly.
  • Responsible, organized, and dependable.
  • Prior ministry or camp experience preferred but not required.
  • Must pass a background check.
Time Frame & Hours
  • Summer position (May–August or longer).
  • 20 hours per week (flexible depending on events).
  • Sundays required; other hours flexible.
Stipend and Benefits
  • Salary negotiable based on applicants needs
  • All expenses paid on trips and special events
  • Paid opportunity to earn either an online certificate in Church ministry at either Kentucky Christian University or Northeast Ohio Bible College.
