The Aluminum Casting Operator performs tasks related to the casting of aluminum such as preparing the casting area for production, beginning and maintaining the cast, collecting samples, and aiding other departments as needed. This role requires individuals to work around molten aluminum with all appropriate PPE.

Shifts:

7 am to 7 pm or 7 pm to 7 am, with rotating schedule allowing overtime. 2‑day on / 2‑day off / 3‑day on / 2‑day off / 2‑day on / 3‑day off cycle.

Wage range starts at $17.50 /hour with no experience; up to $25.00 /hour with relevant manufacturing experience. Night shift incentives, cross‑training, and merit increases are available.

• Organization and housekeeping of the casting area, cleaning and basic maintenance of related equipment
• Completes pre‑cast setup to the requirements of the casting operation
• Inspects casting setup for correctness and to ensure successful cast
• Collects metal samples during casting and delivers them for quality testing
• Removes, replaces and sets up drain pans for continuous operation
• Operates remote control crane as required
• Performs minor repairs and cleaning of tooling
• Services troughing, molds and additional equipment as necessary pre and post cast
• Monitors cast for any defects and notifies supervisor if necessary
• Completes reports and logs as necessary
• Notifies Control Room Operator and/or Supervisor of any shortages in consumables
• Notifies Control Room Operator and/or Supervisor of any potential concerns or issues in production

• Employee must be legally authorized to work in the United States; verification of employment eligibility will be required a sponsorship is not available.
• Must pass a minimal physical test and background screening
• Candidates must be able to work the shift they are scheduled (day or night)
• Physical effort required includes standing, stooping, pulling, pushing, climbing and lifting up to 50 pounds
• Willingness to cross‑train

• Ability to identify problems, inform others, and assist in the solving of such problems
• Judgment and decision‑making abilities to prevent errors, scrap parts, safety hazards, or other poor results pertaining to job duties.
