The City of Huber Heights, Ohio, located just minutes from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and in proximity of the Dayton International Airport and the I-75/I-70 “Crossroads of America” interchange with a population of 43,439, is seeking qualified applicants for the position of full-time Police Officer.
The City of Huber Heights is one of the fastest growing communities in southwest Ohio. The Police Division is a progressive Division that is comprised of 60 career Police Officers and is recruiting candidates for the position of full-time Police Officer. This position performs general duty police work for the prevention of crimes, protection of life and property, and is responsible for general enforcement of laws and ordinances.

This selection process will utilize a Lateral Entry and Entry Level hiring process. The City will be conducting oral interviews to establish an eligibility list to fill immediate openings for the position of full-time Police Officer. The process will begin with screening of applicants for requisites and credentials. Applicants to be considered to continue in the process will undergo an oral interview(s);
dates for oral interview(s) are yet to be determined.
To apply, the applicant must be a commissioned Ohio Peace Officer or must be currently enrolled in a police academy and must obtain an Ohio Peace Officer Training Certificate by time of appointment. Applicant must also be 21 years of age, at time of appointment, U.S. Citizen, have a High School Diploma or GED, and possess a valid Ohio Driver License.
Prior to appointment, applicant must submit to an extensive background investigation, truth verification test, drug screening, physical, and psychological examination.
The current salary range for this position is $64,376.00 to $90,417.60. Benefits include, but not limited to, annual holiday bonus, 28 hours personal leave, sick leave accrual, and vacation accrual (up to a max of approximately 32 days based on previous full-time public service credit in Ohio), performance incentive pay of 1.25% after probation, educational incentive pay, employer paid life insurance, and excellent health insurance benefits to include 100% employer paid medical insurance premium and generous contributions to HSA or HRA.
