PositionDescription:
The Bench Operator produces parts by means of mechanical metal removal (deburr or polishing). Night shift is Monday-Thursday 4:00 pm – 2:30 am. Must be available to train on day shift, M-TH 5:30 am – 4:00 pm. The night shift pays a 20% shift premium.
- Deburr parts using mechanical means (hand tools and pneumatic grinders)
- Cleaning and washing parts to remove manufacturing oils, dirt and debris
- Operate part marking equipment
- Ensure continuous production of parts that meet customer expectations
- Inspect completed parts using micrometers, indicators, calipers, comparators, etc.
- Maintain quality standards through understanding of the Quality Management System
- Monitor and document operational and performance issues and provide feedback to supervisor
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with peers, supervisor and other staff
- Other duties as directed by supervisor
- High school diploma or GED required; post‑secondary CNC education preferred
- Strong verbal communication and problem‑solving skills
- Attention to detail and ability to deal with complexity
- Capable of working in a customer‑focused, deadline‑driven environment while maintaining a positive attitude
