Fire Extinguisher Engineer – Huddersfield – £24,000‑£38,000 Per Annum
- £24,000 basic salary
- 5% commission on each completed job (based on invoice value)
- Average annual earnings: £36,000‑£38,000+, with potential to exceed depending on performance
- Additional bonus opportunities available through annual performance review
- Monday to Friday: 08:30 – 17:00
- 20 days annual leave + bank holidays + 3 additional Christmas shutdown days
- Coverage of Yorkshire & Manchester areas
- Company van provided (business use)
- All expenses covered when working away (hotel, breakfast, dinner)

Role Overview
We are currently looking for a Fire Extinguisher Engineer to carry out the servicing, maintenance, and installation of portable fire extinguishers across a range of client sites. The role is field‑based and involves working independently as well as within a small team, ensuring all work is completed in line with current fire safety regulations and company procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Service, maintain, and install portable fire extinguishers in accordance with BS 5306 standards
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive service visits
- Complete accurate certification, service records, and compliance documentation
- Ensure all work meets current fire safety regulations and company quality standards
- Provide a professional and customer‑facing service on client premises
- Manage and maintain stock and equipment within the company vehicle
- Communicate clearly with clients regarding completed works and recommendations
- Support occasional working away assignments as required (typically 2‑3 days per month, with some months no travel required), with all travel, accommodation, and meal expenses covered
- Maintain strict adherence to health & safety procedures at all times
- Previous experience in fire extinguisher servicing or fire protection engineering preferred
- FIA qualifications (or equivalent) desirable; training can be provided
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Confident communication and customer‑facing skills
- Full UK driving licence required
