A growing U.S.
-based manufacturing company looking to add a Cost Accountant to its finance team.
This is a hands-on role with significant exposure to manufacturing operations and an opportunity to work closely with Finance, Operations, and Production on costing, inventory, margins, and profitability.
- Perform cost and margin analysis across material, labor, and overhead
- Analyze standard vs. actual costs and investigate manufacturing variances
- Support customer pricing reviews and profitability analysis
- Manage inventory valuation and ensure accurate inventory accounting
- Analyze obsolete and slow-moving inventory and recommend appropriate reserves
- Support month-end and year-end close, including journal entries and reconciliations
- Prepare cost and operational reporting for management
- Help improve costing methodologies, inventory controls, and accounting processes
- Support internal and external audits
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3-5 years of manufacturing accounting experience
- Cost accounting experience strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of standard costing, inventory accounting, and GAAP
- Strong Excel and ERP system skills
- Analytical, hands-on approach with the ability to partner effectively with operations
- Stable, established U.S. manufacturer
- Multi-site manufacturing environment
- Broad exposure to cost accounting and plant operations
