SUMMARY:

Hudson Public Schools is seeking a long term sub for a Special Education Teacher in the SEA program at Farley Elementary School effective immediately through the remainder of the  school year (approx June 17, 2026)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Assess student progress towards learning objectives.

* Differentiate classroom work to address individual learning needs and provide feedback to students and families.

* Provide a safe and welcoming learning environment.

* Supervises students in out-of-classroom activities during the assigned working day

* Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of the students.

* Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.

* Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct, and for the classroom, develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner

* Maintain confidentiality regarding personal and work/school related information for all students and staff of the district.

* Other duties as specified by the Principal or Curriculum Director.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree required

* Massachusetts DESE license preferred

* Successful completion of Criminal Records Check (CORI), and fingerprints

Terms of Employment:

* 6.5 hours/day

* temporary employment

* Eligible for Benefits & Insurance after 90 days.

Pay Scale:

* Unlicesended Long Term Subs = $23.85/hour

* Licensed Long Term Subs = $ 46.08/hour - $61.94/hour.

Licensed Long Term Subs will be placed accordingly within this range dependent upon years of experience and degrees.

While performing duties of this job, the employee may often remain in a stationary position for considerable periods of time. The employee will have also have ample periods of standing and may be required to traverse throughout the building. The employee must frequently use hands and frequently operates a computer and other office productivity machinery (i.e., calculator, copy machine, and computer printer).

Physical abilities may also include lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling, stooping/crouching, reaching/handling, talking/hearing conversations, and near/far visual acuity/depth perception/color vision/field. Ability must be able to lift and/or push and pull 15 to 20lbs for short periods, and walk up and down stairs several times a day. The employee must be able to communicate effectively with students, staff members, and the public in person and on the telephone.
