SummaryWe are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Music and Chorus teacher to join the Quinn Middle School community. Candidates should be able to contribute to a positive environment for student learning and involvement, embracing cultural diversity and multiple perspectives. They must hold a strong belief that all students are capable of achieving and be able to provide support and feedback for a wide range of learners.
The ideal candidate has a collegial spirit that supports the team model through collaboration and professional growth consistent with the educational goals and philosophies of our school community. Commitments to continuous learning, improvement, reflection, and working with students, staff, and families to ensure that all students achieve at high levels are required.

- Instruct students in practical methods and theory of general music, singing, as well as playing musical instruments.
- Teach skills in music understanding/appreciation, harmony, explorations in music and choral music in relationship to the level being taught.
- Provide instruction in the skills necessary to access information in all formats to both large groups and individual students.
- Adapt curriculum to the needs of the students with varying intellectual abilities, and to accommodate a variety of instructional needs.
- Evaluate each student's musical growth, performance, and musical understanding in relationship to the level being taught.
- Bachelor's degree required;
Master's preferred. - Mass DESE Music:
Vocal/Instrumental/General certification required. - Successful completion of Criminal Records Check (CORI) and fingerprints.
- Ability to speak Portuguese and/or Spanish preferred.
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Hudson School Committee's policy on evaluation or in accordance with union contract.
Work Year- 10 months, 183 days, 0.6 FTE (roughly 20 hours) – Schedule to be set by principal.
- 3 personal days, 13 sick days, prorated pursuant to date of hire.
- MTRS eligible role.
- This is a salaried position distributed over 26 paychecks including a lump sum in June to cover summer pay.

While performing duties of this job, the employee may often remain in a stationary position for considerable periods of time. The employee will also have ample periods of standing and may be required to traverse throughout the building. The employee must frequently use hands and frequently operate a computer and other office productivity machinery (i.e., calculator, copy machine, and computer printer).
Physical abilities may include lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling, stooping/crouching, reaching/handling, talking/hearing conversations, and near/far visual acuity/depth perception/color vision/field. Ability must be able to lift and/or push and pull 15 to 20lbs for short periods, and walk up and down stairs several times a day. The employee must be able to communicate effectively with students, staff members, and the public in person and on the telephone.
