Sign‑On Bonus: $500.00 (after 40 days)

Overview

Hudson Public Schools is hiring multiple ABA Therapists throughout the district (all levels) to provide ABA‑based support in the classroom. The role assists teachers or other certified personnel in delivering high‑quality instruction, fostering student growth, and maintaining a safe, structured learning environment. Responsibilities include educational and recreational support, behavioral intervention, data collection, classroom organization, and school‑community relations.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the classroom teacher by reviewing, correcting, and reinforcing lessons with individuals and small groups of students; read stories aloud; support math concepts; reinforce letter recognition and related curricular activities.
  • Help prepare and inventory instructional materials; set up and maintain learning aids and equipment.
  • Assist with wash‑up and lavatory routines and supervise breakfast/lunch periods as needed.
  • Maintain clerical records, including daily attendance and cataloging of instructional materials.
  • Facilitate communication within the school community to promote understanding among staff, students, and families.
  • Contribute to a warm, open atmosphere that encourages all students to reach their full potential.
  • Support and teach students with moderate to severe special needs, including behavioral, academic, and daily living challenges.
  • Read and implement Behavior Support Plans, collecting daily behavior data for progress reporting and IEP development.
  • Implement ABA techniques—discrete trials, adaptive skills (e.g., toileting, feeding, routines), task analysis, natural environment teaching, and social skills training—following appropriate prompt hierarchies.
  • Maintain ongoing certification in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) and possess the physical capabilities for protective holds and student escorts.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Building Administrator or designee.
Qualifications
  • Associate degree or equivalent (48 undergraduate college credits).
  • Preferable experience working with students with autism spectrum disorders and/or ABA.
  • Successful completion of Criminal Records Check (CORI) and fingerprints.
Work Year & Compensation
  • 10‑month year (183 work days, 3 personal days, 12 sick days prorated). Position is salaried and distributed over 26 paychecks, including a lump sum in June for summer pay.
  • Benefit eligibility starts on the hire date; 30 days to enroll in coverage.
  • Salary: $26.22 to $33.53 per hour.

Physical Requirements & Accommodations

Employees may stand, walk, and use manual dexterity frequently. Physical requirements include lifting/pushing/pulling 15‑20 lbs for short periods and walking up and down stairs several times a day.
