Job DescriptionWe are seeking six (6) enthusiastic and dependable Part‑Time Summer Library Pages who are interested in public service, community engagement, and gaining valuable workplace experience in a library setting.
Definition:
This entry‑level position supports the daily operations of the Youth Services or Circulation Department. This role assists with public service activities, collection maintenance, library programs, and administrative tasks while contributing to a welcoming library environment.
Supervision:
Work under the general direction of the Youth Services or Circulation Librarian and the policies established by the Board of Library Trustees.
- Assist with public service operations, collection management, library programs, and community outreach.
- Refer the general public to appropriate service desks or departments.
- Assist with library technology and equipment (e.g., computers, printers, video game consoles, etc.).
- Assist with maintaining areas managed by the Youth Services or Circulation Department.
Typical office and library conditions with varying levels of activity, noise, and interruptions. Library hours may require scheduled evenings and weekends. Must operate and maintain library technology and equipment. Handle confidential patron information with discretion. Errors in work may affect operations.
