Job Description

Hudson Public Schools is hiring Elementary Dual Language Teachers for Farley Elementary School. Teachers will provide direct instruction to elementary students as part of the dual language program, delivering high expectations for achievement and equal access to instruction.

Summary

Farley Elementary School seeks two English‑Elementary School Teachers in the dual‑language program to promote inclusive learning environments that celebrate diversity and support student social/emotional development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Integrate knowledge of second language acquisition and evidence‑based practices for effective Dual Language Program implementation.
  • Plan instruction that supports student growth and development.
  • Use innovative approaches, instructional strategies, and technology to increase student learning and confidence.
  • Create a classroom environment conducive to learning that celebrates cultural differences.
  • Manage classroom environment effectively.
  • Guide learning toward curriculum goals, establishing clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects.
  • Mentor students’ understanding of the curriculum, adjusting instruction, materials, or assessments as needed.
  • Deliver curriculum in English, making learning goals clear and using appropriate instructional and questioning techniques.
  • Identify, refer, and provide accommodations for students requiring special education.
  • Assess student accomplishments and provide progress reports.
  • Promote high standards and expectations for student achievement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, students, and parents regularly.
  • Ensure student safety, well‑being, and work output.
  • Perform other reasonably job‑related tasks.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate field.
  • Valid DESE issued license in field and grade‑level core academic license.
  • Valid DESE issued ESL license.
  • Familiarity with WIDA standards and alignment to student learning.
  • Experience working with students of diverse backgrounds and needs in an equitable and inclusive manner.
  • Experience evaluating student skills through written reports.
  • Strong problem‑solving and data‑collection skills to support student success.
  • Ability to plan and implement lessons based on district and school objectives and student needs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with parents, students, teachers, administrators, and community representatives.
  • Successful completion of Criminal Records Check (CORI) and fingerprints.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Intermediate‑high proficiency in Portuguese.
  • Minimum of three years teaching experience.
  • Experience supporting students with special needs.
  • Advanced educational preparation in the discipline.
  • Familiarity with literacy development in Portuguese.
  • Experience in the discipline.
  • Experience with second language acquisition.
  • Additional content area license (e.g., Special Needs).
Evaluation

Performance will be evaluated in accordance with Hudson School Committee policy or union contract.

Work Year
  • 10 months (183 days)
  • 3 personal days, 13 sick days prorated from date of hire

This is a salaried position distributed over 26 paychecks, including a lump sum in June to cover summer pay.

Salary

$55,911 to $111,490 per year.
