- Design and implement mechanical systems based on approved specifications and requirements.
- Participate in developing product requirements, specifications, schedules, and feasibility studies to assess functionality and reliability.
- Collaborate with project management and cross-functional teams to troubleshoot designs, resolve issues, and drive continuous improvements.
- Conduct and support product design, verification, and validation activities to meet project milestones.
- Create and maintain detailed design documentation, including drawings, specifications, data sheets, and validation records.
- Lead and participate in technical design reviews, recommending design changes as needed.
- Perform all phases of engineering design—from concept to detailed 3D modeling and structural analysis using Solid Works.
- Review and assess vendor proposals and drawings to ensure design integrity and alignment with project goals.

Competitive pay based on experience
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET certified institution
- 5-10 years’ experience in mechanical design
- 3 years' experience in Solid Works or expert knowledge of other 3D CAD modeling systems; experience with COSMOS software package
- Experience designing heavy structures, including tooling, material selection, and fabrication
- Experience with subsystem integration and testing
- Ability to source vendors
- Understanding of machinery product design, verification, and validation
- Ability to read and understand scientific and technical documents
