Clinical Director

Synergy Wellness Center, located in vibrant downtown Hudson with an additional office 5 minutes away in beautiful Bolton, is an integrative wellness community that provides a warm, peaceful and respectful environment for our staff. Due to growth, we are hiring a Clinical Director to join our group practice. The position will be based in our Hudson and/or Bolton locations.

Synergy offers supervisory support, CEUs, employee wellness programs, complementary yoga memberships and discounts on other Synergy Wellness Center's services. Upon completion of eligibility requirements, full time employees (works 32+ hours a week) may participate in a full benefits package including PTO, medical, dental and vision insurance and a 401(k). Job Summary:

The Clinical Director provides clinical leadership to the clinical and non-clinical team members of our mental health counseling team, balancing quality of care, clinician and staff support, compliance, clinical and intake operations, in line with the company's strategy, goals and values. This is a co-leadership role with the Practice Director.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical oversight of treatment, quality outcomes for clients, HIPAA and licensing compliance, guide clinical decision making and treatment protocols
  • Ensure legal, ethical and professional standards are met (reporting, scope of practice)
  • Evaluate for continuous improvement of all processes and procedures
  • Serve as clinical escalation point for high risk cases and clinic's risk management
  • Provide individual therapy to clients in person and telehealth
  • Provide individual supervision to supervisors, mentor clinicians' clinical skills and professional growth
  • Identify training needs, coordinate continuing education within scope of training budget
  • Support clinician well-being and stress reduction to prevent burnout
  • Ensure the team's timely, high quality and clinically compliant documentation
  • Provide team and individual feedback to highlight clinical strengths and areas of clinical improvement following semi-annual chart audits and as situations arise
  • Develop, update and implement systems, policies, and procedures into Standard Operating Procedures to ensure consistent, efficient and effective workflows
  • Foster a healthy, ethical, supportive clinical culture, clinician retention, modeling professionalism and values, supporting diversity, equity and inclusion in clinical practice
  • Lead clinical team meeting, peer supervision and supervisor meetings, in collaboration with Practice Director
  • Ensure collaborative communication between the Intake, Medical Billing and Clinicians
  • Participate in company Manager and other meetings as appropriate
  • Provide clinical coverage when Practice Manager and Supervisors are unavailable
  • Represent the Therapy department at community and networking events
  • Assist with outreach to local physician, psychiatric and other referral partners to establish trust, credibility and profitable referral relationships
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to promote staff and team expertise; serve as the public face of the Therapy team to expand the company's influence as mental health experts; educate internally and externally about services and interventions
  • Oversee and contribute to new staff orientation regarding policies, documentation standards, clinical culture, introduction to Intake team, EHR requirements and general expectations
  • Respond to client complaints, clinical incidents, external record requests and audits
  • Oversee performance reviews, support Supervisors in addressing and improving employees' work performance issues, provide feedback in a supportive corrective manner
  • Oversee caseloads, progress notes, client retention, clinician productivity, financial performance and KPI's to meet company's clinical and revenue goals
  • Advise leadership on hiring needs, waitlists and specialty gaps
  • Ensure successful communication with Medical Billing for timely insurance verification and between and Intake and Clinicians for assignments, openings, and clinical expertise
  • Oversee Intake staff, ensure streamlined processes, training, performance management, and maintain expectations including answering calls and emails, responding within 2 hours of inquiries, scheduling Intake during first client contact and send EHR welcome email
  • Involve Intake Team in updating Intake SOP's as needed
  • Utilize Asana to monitor intake process and to communicate across the Company
