As a Customer Service Associate, you combine top‑notch customer service skills with genuine care for people to help customers feel comfortable while shopping at Lowe’s. This is an excellent role for those who want to engage with customers and help them solve their home improvement challenges.
Your Day at Lowe'sAs a Customer Service Associate, you will welcome customers, help them find the right products and services, occasionally load merchandise, and ensure all customer needs are met. While most of the day is spent listening to customers, answering questions, and organizing merchandise, responsibilities may vary by department:
Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Inside Garden, Hardware, Tools, Millwork, Building Materials, Plumbing, Electrical, Paint, Home Décor, Tool Rental, or Pro Services.
- Welcome customers, answer questions, and deliver friendly, professional service.
- Assist customers with locating and handling merchandise.
- Down‑stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf spaces and replenishing supplies.
- Process orders and deliveries accurately.
- Cross‑train in other store areas to enhance customer service.
- Prepare merchandise in your department (e.g., tint and mix paint, cut and thread pipe, cut and bundle wood, cut drywall, cut blinds).
- Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- 6 months experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
- 6 months experience using common retail technology such as smartphones and tablets.
- Reading, writing, and performing basic arithmetic (addition and subtraction).
- Able to perform duties requiring prolonged standing, sitting, or other activities necessary for the job.
- Minimally lift 25 lbs unassisted or over 25 lbs with or without accommodation.
- Retail and/or customer service experience.
- Bi‑lingual skills.
- Certification in a trade related to a department (e.g., hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, lumber/building materials).
This role does not require regular travel; however, occasional travel to meetings, training, or to support neighboring stores may be needed.
Working ConditionsEnvironmental factors vary by location and may include inside and outside weather conditions, extreme heat or cold, wet, damp, humid, windy, or drafty conditions, and constant or intermittent noise. Lifting guidelines recommend single lifts of no more than 75 lbs; team lifts are used minimally starting at 75 lbs. Powered equipment should be used as required and with proper training.
Pay RangePay Range: $17.00 – $17.70 per hour. Starting rate of pay may vary based on location, education, training, and experience.
