We’re looking for a Project Accountant/Billing Specialist to strengthen the financial backbone of our projects with accurate, timely, and strategic billing practices.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Preparing monthly progress billings using AIA G702/G703 forms and other contract formats.
- Maintaining schedules of values, tracking change orders, and updating percent complete.
- Uploading invoices through GC billing portals such as Textura, Procore, and GCpay.
- Reconciling billing with job cost reports to ensure accuracy and profitability tracking.
- Managing lien waivers, conditional/unconditional release forms, and compliance documentation.
- Reviewing contracts for GCspecific billing procedures, retainage rules, and pay application formats.
- Issuing certificates of insurance and coordinating special insurance requirements.
- Preparing cash flow forecasts and monitoring receivables to support financial health.
- Collaborating with project managers, shop supervisors, and field foremen to resolve billing discrepancies.
- Supporting monthend close with reconciliations and revenue reporting across multiple active projects.
What You Bring to the Table
- 2–5 years of construction billing or project accounting experience, preferably in steel erection or fabrication.
- Proficiency with AIA G702/G703 formats, continuation sheets, and Siteline billing software.
- Experience with construction billing portals (Textura, Procore, GCpay).
- Strong understanding of subcontractor and vendor lien waivers, releases, and compliance documentation.
- Knowledge of taxexempt certificates, insurance certificates, and prevailing wage compliance.
- Experience managing cash flow forecasting and collections in subcontractor environments.
- Proven ability to resolve billing disputes with GCs and owners.
- Demonstrated success managing billing across multiple concurrent projects.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (xlookups, sumifs, pivot tables).
- Proficiency in Quick Books for accurate entry of customer receivables.
- Excellent communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
