Job SummaryA Test Engineer job opportunity is open with our client in Hudson, NH. In this role, your primary responsibility will be to serve as the Test Engineering Lead for an OpenVPX Chassis Program. This includes managing test engineering tasks and deliverables and reporting back to the program team.
A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field is required.
Job Duties- Provide status updates and program insight during customer discussions related to test activities.
- Design, develop, and implement test plans, procedures, and strategies to evaluate performance, functionality, and compliance.
- Contribute to the safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of defense and aerospace systems.
- Collaborate with design engineers, project managers, suppliers, and clients to interpret specifications and requirements.
- Develop comprehensive test plans to validate system performance, reliability, and compliance with requirements.
- Identify and prioritize critical test cases; define test objectives and success criteria.
- Design and execute functional, integration, performance, and stress tests.
- Set up and configure test environments, equipment, and instrumentation.
- Execute testing, record and analyze results, and document issues or anomalies.
- Troubleshoot system defects and work closely with design teams to resolve findings.
- Create detailed test reports, including procedures, results, and recommendations.
- Maintain organized test documentation for compliance and audit readiness.
- Communicate test findings, status updates, and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities for test automation and develop automated scripts/frameworks.
- Continuously improve test methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Stay current with advancements in testing technologies and aerospace/defense standards.
- Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards throughout testing.
- Collaborate with customers, regulatory bodies, and internal teams on compliance-related issues.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of test methodologies and test development processes.
- Experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, environmental chambers, or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of communication protocols such as SPI, PCIe, TCP/UDP.
- Familiarity with networking concepts including subnets, VLANs, and routing.
- Knowledge of defense and aerospace standards (MIL-STD, DO-178C, DO-254, AS9100).
- Proficiency in Python, C, or C++ for test automation.
- Strong analytical and documentation skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet project deadlines.
- Prior defense/aerospace experience is highly desirable.
