Key Responsibilities of the Manufacturing Engineer:

  • Contribute to the design & development of sensor solutions while advancing core proprietary technologies.
  • Review & analysis of customer specifications, including design & test, for feasibility and cost.
  • Work closely with manufacturing, quality and sales teams to ensure success of the products.
  • Performance of mechanical analyses including thermal, structural, etc. and testing.
  • Creation of drawing packages and engineering documentation/technical writing.
  • Training of engineering team and operators as required.
  • Monitor and support engineering processes including design, fabrication & implementation of capital equipment at various sites.
  • Interfacing as needed with customers, inspectors, auditors or vendors.
  • Travel as required including support for testing, installations, training, and troubleshooting.
Requirements of the Manufacturing Engineer:
  • The desired candidate should have demonstrable and practical engineering knowledge, and be excited to work hands‑on with product. Applicants should be responsible and curious self‑starters who can work both independently and as part of a close‑knit team.
  • Previous experience with sensor products and Military/Aerospace/Government applications is greatly preferred.
  • Excellent facility in thermodynamics, fluids (mass flow, mediums etc.) and heat transfer is a must.
  • Familiarity with electrical principles and the selection & compatibility of materials.
  • Working knowledge of welding & machining technologies.
  • Hands‑on familiarity with laboratory equipment & data acquisition systems.
  • Proficiency in mechanical analysis (stress, vibration etc.).
  • Understanding of manufacturing and process controls, including FAI and failure analyses.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Proven 10+ years of experience.
  • Proficiency with CAD software (Solidworks preferred) and Microsoft Office.
  • Applicants must be U.S. Persons, and must be able to pass a drug test.

Full-time position – RdF maintains a desirable 9/80 work week and is closed on alternating Fridays.

Salary is based on experience.
