Production Manager, Manufacturing Engineer
Position Overview
Approved Sheet Metal is seeking a hands‑on Production Floor Leader to oversee daily shop operations and ensure work flows efficiently from engineering through fabrication and shipment. This role owns the production schedule, coordinates cross‑department execution, and is ultimately responsible for getting quality parts out the door on time.
This is a leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced, high‑mix fabrication environment and can balance urgency, planning, and team accountability.
Key Responsibilities Production Scheduling & Execution- Own and manage the daily and weekly production schedule
- Prioritize work based on customer deadlines and shop capacity
- Coordinate workflow across laser, forming, welding, finishing, and assembly
- Identify bottlenecks and adjust resources proactively
- Work closely with engineering to release jobs accurately and on time
- Resolve production issues quickly to prevent delays
- Ensure documentation, prints, and job packets are production‑ready
- Direct daily shop activities and maintain production flow
- Set clear priorities and expectations for the team
- Monitor work progress and intervene when needed
- Maintain accountability for deadlines and quality
- Own on‑time delivery metrics
- Track progress against the schedule
- Escalate risks early and communicate solutions
- Improve workflow efficiency and scheduling processes
- Support lean practices and shop organization
- Drive a culture of urgency, ownership, and teamwork
- 5+ years of experience in sheet metal fabrication or manufacturing operations
- Strong understanding of production scheduling and workflow management
- Ability to read prints and understand fabrication processes
- Leadership experience managing shop personnel
- Problem‑solving mindset and strong communication skills
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment
- Jobs move smoothly from engineering to production

This is a full‑time, on‑site position scheduled Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
