Position Overview:
The Knit Production Variable Overhead Supervisor is responsible for supporting the knit production process by overseeing variable overhead resources (including labor, staffing, and related cost elements) to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This role is accountable for coordinating daily operations, optimizing resource utilization, and maintaining compliance with company policies, safety standards, and production schedules. The Supervisor works closely with production leadership to drive continuous improvement, associate engagement, and operational performance.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate associates supporting knit production operations, including shift staffing, job assignments, and daily workflow management.
- Ensure appropriate manning levels are maintained to meet production requirements and customer demand.
- Monitor labor usage, timekeeping, and attendance to ensure accurate payroll.
- Enforce all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations; actively participate in safety tailgate meetings to ensure a safe working environment.
- Identify and initiate corrective actions for safety, quality, and production issues; support root cause analysis and problem resolution.
- Maintain accurate records and reports related to labor, production, and department performance metrics.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and production specifications; support efforts to achieve 100% first quality output.
- Maintain good housekeeping and enforce clean, organized work areas throughout the department.
- Scheduling replacement beam drops for knit machines.
- Assign new beams to knit machines, hang and unhang beams through SAP.
- Coordinate Twisters beam replacement schedule.
- Coordinate knit machine operators break relief schedule.
- Perform daily quality checks throughout the workday.
- Check for and resolve COGIS in SAP knit machines.
- Troubleshoot both quality and SAP identified issues as needed.
- Coordinate weekly UNIFI beam trailer, PTM outgoing finished goods and empty outgoing beam/rack trailer.
- Participate in scheduled quarterly inventories.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED
- Previous manufacturing, knit production, or textile industry experience.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and manage multiple priorities under pressure.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and related systems (e.g., SAP or equivalent)
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work overtime and adjust work schedule as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate or bachelor's degree in business, manufacturing, or related field.
- Prior supervisory or people management experience.
- Bilingual – Ability to speak both English and Spanish

- Ability to manage labor resources and production priorities effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work with diverse groups of associates.

Physical Requirements (Manufacturing Environment):
- Ability to move throughout production areas and around equipment (majority of shift).
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. Push 250 lbs. carts of fabric, pull 50 lbs.
Shift/
Work Hours:
- Second shift (Monday–Friday), with flexibility required based on operational needs.
- On-call availability as required to support plant operations.
