Description
2nd shift
Essential Job Functions- Analyze, troubleshoot, and repair tooling issues during production runs.
- Operate forklift, die cart, and overhead crane to move tooling safely.
- Perform preventative maintenance and process improvements on tooling between runs using tool correction orders and last‑hit parts.
- Operate tool‑room machinery—including mills, lathes, grinders, saws, and drill press—to repair and build tooling details.
- Apply TIG and MIG welding skills (a plus).
- Contribute to corporate goals by improving processes, safety, and housekeeping.
- Use basic computer skills for documentation.
- Perform other essential functions as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent, completion of a certified 4‑year apprenticeship in Tool & Die, or eight years of related experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Stand on concrete floor for entire shift; walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to floor.
- Exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally.
- Visually inspect parts for quality and read documents, machine gauges, and precision measuring instruments.
Tool room of a stamping and assembly factory with high noise levels and physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts. Some occasional travel to customers, suppliers, and Midway Products. Tool & Die makers may be hired to work in a specific area, but are expected to work in all production areas to promote productivity, quality, and safety.
