This Opportunity

The Mechanical Inspector is responsible for ensuring that the quality requirements set forth by the Quality Supervisor, Customer, and the ISO program are achieved and conveyed to the appropriate departments.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the supervisor in the workflow of daily inspections with inspectors to ensure completion of requirements.
  • Perform in‑house calibrations of hand‑held measuring instruments and maintain the calibration system.
  • Plan and carry out projects, selecting approaches and methods used in solving problems.
  • Conduct preliminary inspections/receiving for compliance with specifications using blue‑prints and drawings.
  • Conduct in‑process and final inspections at various checkpoints during construction, removal, disassembly, repair, assembly, and installation of structures, systems, and associated components/equipment.
  • Interpret technical specifications, directives, and relevant publications to identify discrepancies and deficiencies.
  • Conduct audits, submitting reports and recommendations.
  • Complete other projects as assigned.
Requirements

Must have working knowledge of inspection/test equipment such as micrometers, height gauges, optical comparators, gauge blocks, ring and plug gauges, and ability to read and interpret blueprints for inspection requirements, including geometric tolerance features.

  • GED or high‑school education required. MS Office, Excel, and Word skills.
  • One (1) to five (5) years of direct experience in a quality‑related position.
